Shift: Sun-Thur 10:00pm-6:30am Sun-Thur with occasional OT on weekends
*Must be able to train on 1st shift for 2-3 months 6:00am-3:30pm
Pay starts: $22.32/hour with $2 premium on 3rd
Responsibilities:
·
Responsible for enforcing and following safety
and quality standards, good manufacturing practices (GMP’s), and Federal, State
and Local regulations, and adherence to job specifications.
·
Ensure proper PPE is utilized, as well as
forklift compliance is adhered to.
·
Responsible for reading, comprehending and
explaining job standards, packaging requirements and implementing the quality
standards and specifications for products.
·
Investigates and identifies root cause to
resolve production problems in a timely manner.
·
Consistently developing work orders and
contributing to support continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives to
reduce expenses and improve the overall operation.
·
Responsible for change overs, general
maintenance and inspecting the production line for proper setup to ensure
everything is set up correctly (processing system, detectors, injectors,
coders, etc.).
·
Acts as the “first responder” when a line stops
producing and ensures to correct any problems quickly.
·
Monitor and maintain equipment for proper
operation and report issues to Operations Manager and on documentation and
completing production as scheduled for the day.
·
Completes maintenance schedules and work orders
and makes utilization of all resources in alignment with plant priorities (ie:
parts and supplies must be approved by Operations Manager).
·
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work
areas throughout shift and at end of shift (ie:
ensures all items are picked up after working on a piece of
equipment-nuts/bolts, rags, tools, etc.).
·
Ensures department compliance with federal,
state, local building/mechanical/electrical codes, safety codes, OSHA
regulations, fire codes, company’s and customer’s policies, procedures and
standards.
·
Delivers results by keeping equipment maintained
and functioning to meet all production and quality requirements, to include
reducing down time, increasing efficiencies, and reducing energy costs.
·
Collaborates with other departments and
communicates requirements, opportunity areas, status of work orders, and
results.
·
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by
management.
Qualifications:
•
High school diploma or equivalent required.
•
3-5 years’ previous maintenance mechanic experience
required; with experience in Food and Beverage industry or Journeyman
Apprentice Certification preferred.
•
Required to fully comply with Quality Management
System Policies and Procedures and Food Safety Management requirements.
•
Must be able to work overtime as needed
including change at the start and end of shift times and weekends (including
the last week of the calendar year to perform maintenance on production lines).
•
Must be able to effectively communicate, read
and comprehend instructions and procedures in English.
•
Required to be forklift certified by company before operating any company owned forklift.
•
Ability to demonstrate a high attention to
detail.
•
Ability to demonstrate a high sense of urgency
and be proactive in addressing problems as they arise.
•
Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal
skills, cultivating a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration and
teamwork.

Leads and
Maintenance employees will not be approved for vacation during the period of
the Annual Maintenance Shutdown week (normally scheduled the week after the
Christmas Holiday)
•
Must attain Food Safety Training (Qualified
Individual)
Physical Requirements:
•
Ability to perform physical requirements of the
job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, reaching, bending,
pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, kneeling, and climbing) approximately 85%
of the day and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
•
Required to have close visual acuity to perform
any activity such as transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive
reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or
operation of machines (including inspection); using measuring devices, and/or
assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
•
Ability to work in various conditions with
exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust and fumes.
Work Environment:
·
Food manufacturing plant working environment.
·
Noise level in the plant are moderate to high.
While in the plant, hearing protection is required.
·
When located in the plant, the environment will
include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), moderate cold and hot
temperature (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts,
exposure to raw food ingredients (including allergens) and chemicals.
·
Due to food and safety regulations, wearing of
hairnets, earplugs, bump cap and steel toed or composite toed shoes are
required at all times while in the plant.
