Sub-Assembler

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  The following list of essential duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.  
 Assembles sub-assemblies, including, but not limited to, band wheels, upper plates, doors, hydraulic units, etc.
 Checks and resolves minor operational problems and works with engineering to solve fit or mechanical problems.
 May be required to build electrical panels, which include electrical components and wiring.
 Uses powered industrial truck (forklift) and other material moving machinery.
 Keeps assigned work area clean, orderly, and safe.
 Adheres to all safety rules outlined in the safety manual and employee handbook.
 Performs other related duties as required and assigned.  
 
Skills   The Sub-Assembler must have considerable knowledge of principles and practices in the following areas:  
1. Ability to work well with coworkers
2. Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, hydraulic circuit prints, and elementary diagrams
3. Ability to use various measuring instruments
4. Demonstrated knowledge of machine operation
5. Ability to work on or beneath machines and in close quarters when performing the testing process    
 
Education and Work Experience   
1. High School Diploma or GED, with relevant machine assembly experience on a Marvel saw, or
2. Any similar combination of education and experience  
 
Physical Demands   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Sub-Assembler to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.  
 
While performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, the Sub-Assembler must frequently lift and/or move up to fifteen (15) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.  The SubAssembler must occasionally lift up to fifty (50) pounds from the floor to 36 inches high.  The Sub-Assembler is constantly required stand/walk, use both hands and legs, and have the ability to speak/hear.  The SubAssembler is frequently required to reach high/low.  The Sub-Assembler is occasionally required to sit, push/pull, balance, stoop, kneel, climb stationary and rolling stairs, and perform repeated bending, and perform repetitive finger movement and twisting with wrists or hands.  Visual acuity is also required to operate overhead cranes and powered industrial trucks (forklifts).
